Hello! I’m Lena. Welcome to my writing website and higher calling—to carry the message of hope, healing, and recovery. I was a depressed, lost soul, and through the help of others, I found a new model of living that has profoundly changed my life for the better. I am indebted to those who guided me and were driven to pay it forward. The purpose of this space is to encourage others to look within, to help those suffering from loneliness, restlessness, and discontent, and to aid those struggling with anxiety, anger, fear, depression, addiction, trauma, mental illness, and suicidal ideation. I believe that when we honestly look at our behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and belief systems—and work with them—we can alleviate the causes of our suffering and bring joy and happiness.

►     Key Deliverables: Ensure alignment with the mission, vision, strategic goals, and priority projects for the organization. Creates an atmosphere where HR is a trusted resource for employees and managers, respected for its expertise and called upon for consultation and support. Oversee adherence to performance management, including monitoring performance evaluations to ensure they are completed and submitted on time. Actively identifies gaps and proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks.

►     Key Strengths: Finely tuned analytical skills dedicated to continuous process improvement streamlining all HR policies, procedures, and processes. Comprehensive follow-through, dynamic listening skills, and ability to make recommendations in line with company policies/strategy. Effective promotion of HR values/policies, talent for fostering teamwork, and building relationships.

►     Relationship Development: Strong collaborative skills with a passion for helping others, creating a safe environment, and being a positive influence or role model. Support and guide managers, area supervisors, owners, and employees when complex, sensitive questions and issues arise. Sometimes assists and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Efficiently escalates employee matters and ensures timely resolution. Proven ability to collaborate by liaising between management, office staff, employees, customers, and insurance brokers.

►     Information Management: Technologically savvy with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office, ADP Workforce Now System, and various providers databases to gather data, generate detailed reports, maintain personnel records, audit payroll/benefits deductions for accuracy, and process monthly provider invoices. Audits benefits plan for compliance with government regulations; prepares and submits all government-mandated reports. Led the annual 401(k) plan non-discrimination testing and audit processes, including data compilation across the company, calculation validations with service providers, and working with outside auditors to prepare the financials and associated 5500.

►     Project Oversight: Facilitates annual open enrollment renewal and enrollment process, including preparation of employee communications, updating benefits enrollment information, and processing payroll deductions updates in the ADP system. Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities, knowledgeable of labor relations, COBRA, HIPAA, Leave of Absence, and FMLA Law.
